Art CAN Make a Difference took place last week at the Peabody Essex. The museum invited Salem Public Schools in for an art show of student-created work — theme NATURE! — and to gather cans to donate to local food security programs.

Carlton's E1 and E2 students will be performing at this year's Salsa for the Schools fundraiser! Carlton performers should show up by 7 wearing comfortable, bright and colorful clothing (Carlton t-shirt if you have it) and comfortable shoes.
Tickets are $5 or a family of four for $10. Carlton students who are performing get in free, and may bring one adult in for free, as well.
The event benefits the Salem Education Foundation, which sponsored this year's African Dance Program at Carlton.

Carlton held it's second Danceathon last Friday and the kids (and staff) had a blast. Enjoy some of the photos from the morning.
Through the Salem Education Foundation's Salsa for the Schools enrichment program, our E1 and E2 students have been receiving instruction in the art of African Dance. Please find below flyers with information on the upcoming performances on April 5 as well as a permission slip for your E1/E2 student to attend The SEF’s Salsa For the Schools fundraising event on Friday, April 7, from 6:30-9:30pm in Ames Hall at the Salem YMCA.
Walking Wednesdays are back and will continue to be weather dependent.

Join Salem's Safe Routes to School coordinator and Carlton Parent, Melissa Wilson, on Wednesdays to walk from Salem Common to the Carlton School. The group meets by the Salem Common playground at 7:35 AM.

Come and cheer on your Carlton students at Carlton's annual Dance-a-thon this Friday. Students will have a dance party for up to 45 minutes (about 15 songs). Students not wanting to dance can particicipate by walking around the track that will be set up around the perimeter of the gym.
E1/E2 students will dance from 9-9:45
P1/P2 students will dance from 10-10:45

This is one of the PTO's most successful fundraisers. The money goes to pay for field trips and upcoming family events such as Earth Fest and the end of the year picnic.
